Trivia[]

  • The Duke of Richmond is loosely based on the nobleman of the same name. In 1814, Charles Lennox, 4th Duke of Richmond was a 50 years old Governor-General of British North America, living in Brussels. In the setting of Taboo, however, he's depicted as grotesque and depraved.
  • The actresses are heckled during Act 1, Scene 2 of "The Merchant of Venice" by William Shakespeare.
